The Apostle Paul warned in 2 Timothy chapter three of 30 dangers the church would face in the last days. These dangers are not from without, but from within the church; by those who have a form of godliness, but who are in reality false brethren, wolves in sheep’s clothing. This know also, that in the last days (1) perilous times shall come. (2)For men shall be lovers of their own selves, (3) covetous, (4) boasters, (5) proud, (6) blasphemers, (7) disobedient to parents, (8) unthankful, unholy, (9) Without natural affection, (10) trucebreakers, (11) false accusers, (12) incontinent, (13) fierce, (14) despisers of those that are good, (15) Traitors, (16) heady, (17) highminded, (18) lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; (19) Having a form of godliness, (20) but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. . . (21) led away with divers lusts, (22) Ever learning, and (23) never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.. (24) resist the truth: (25) men of corrupt minds, (26) reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men. . . Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall (27) suffer persecution. But (28) evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, (29) deceiving, and (30) being deceived. (2 Timothy 3:1-13).
